What we collect

When you ring, email or send an enquiry through this website we take down what we need to do the job: your name, phone number, email address, the address of the property, what the problem is, and any photos you send us. If we do the work, we also keep a record of what we did, what we found, and what you were charged.

We do not ask for anything we do not need. We do not collect your date of birth, your driver licence, or any payment card details through this website. Card payments go through our invoicing system, and the card number is never seen or stored by us.

Why we collect it

• To do the job. Ring you back, turn up at the right address, price the work and invoice it.
• To stand behind the job. If something is not right afterwards, our record of what we did is how we put it right.
• To keep the books. Invoices and job records are kept for as long as Australian tax law says they have to be.

We do not sell your details, rent them, or hand them to anyone for marketing. We do not send you newsletters or offers you did not ask for.

Who sees it

Your details are seen by the STS office and the plumber doing your job. A small number of systems we use to run the business handle them on our behalf: our job management system holds the job record, our accounting system holds the invoice, and the company that hosts this website passes your enquiry form to our inbox. Each of those is bound by its own privacy terms and only uses your details to provide its service to us.

We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a job are kept for around twelve months, in case you come back to us, then cleared out. Job records and invoices are kept for seven years, which is what the tax office requires, and because plumbing work can need looking at years later.

This website

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages people read and whether the phone number or enquiry form gets used. That tells us what is useful on the site. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not connect it to your name or your job. There is no advertising tracking on this site and no third-party marketing cookies.

The enquiry form is handled by our website host and filtered for spam. What you type in the form, and any photo you attach, is sent to our office inbox and kept in the host's form log.

Seeing, fixing or removing your details

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Ring the office on 9904 3074 or email info@stsplumbing.com.au. We will sort it out within a week, except where the law says we have to keep a record, in which case we will tell you why.

If you think we have got something wrong with your privacy and we have not fixed it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
